Pinatubo the star attraction in Dewhurst Stakes field at Newmarket

Pinatubo is the Celebrity name among 11 juveniles confirmed at Newmarket.

Even the Shamardal colt has carried all before him so far this season – to landing the Woodcote at Epsom, the Chesham at Royal Ascot and the Vintage at Goodwood in Ireland prior to a nine-length romp from the National Stakes, advancing by a debut win.
The bill of charlie Appleby will be a hot order to verify his status this weekend – and the Newmarket handler was happy because his latest victory in the Curragh with his charge.
He said:He has come from this National Stakes in good form. As per usual, hes been simple in the home and we are excited about the Dewhurst.
I would say we have frightened off the majority of the resistance, but from what we have observed in the races, hes been quite impressive for everybody to view and has enhanced on each run.
It was great to see Earthlight winning the Middle Park and hes there as one of the possible champion two-year-olds, but if Pinatubo wins the Dewhurst and I think that is signed, sealed and delivered – which hes the most exciting two-year-old weve seen this season.
Aidan OBrien has saddled six winners of the Group One plus this past year includes five contenders – headed from the Wichita, that has been an impressive winner of the Tattersalls Stakes within distance and the Dewhurst class last month.
He is joined by stable companion Arizona – behind Pinatubo at the National Stakes, with won the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot third.
Harpocrates completes the Ballydoyle quintet, Monarch Of Egypt and Year Of The Tiger.
Molatham is an intriguing contender for Roger Varian, with won the Convivial Maiden at York and defeated at Wichita in the Flying Scotsman Stakes at Doncaster. Mums Tipple on his debut narrowly beat him at Ascot.
The Clive Cox-trained Favorable was runner-up at Glorious Goodwood, but might renew rivalry after a narrow victory in the Solario Stakes although no game for Pinatubo.
The Charlie Hills-trained Royal Commando and mark Johnstons Iffraaz, the Mystery Power of Richard Hannon would be another hopefuls.
