Christian Benteke and James Tomkins extend Crystal Palace contracts

James Tomkins and christian Benteke have consented extensions to their contracts the team has supported.
Tomkins’ new deal will see him stay with the club before the conclusion of the 2021/22 year, although the period of Benteke has been lengthened until the end of the 2020/21 campaign.
Palace chairman Steve Parish informed the club’s website: »I’m happy that arrangements are reached with all these two important senior players.
« Both James and Christian bring vast Premier League experience, dedication and professionalism to the group.
« These new deals show that we recognise their levels of performance in late seasons, that we think in both players, and that they are hugely inspired by the way that the club is going. »
Central guardian Tomkins, who has played 87 times for Palace since combining in summer of 2016, stated: »I’m now in my fourth season and I’ve enjoyed my time at Palace.
« I am excited about the future here and did not hesitate to commit myself to the club for an extra two decades. It has been fantastic to be part of the team and also to have the support of their chairman, staff and manager.
« A special thanks for our fans that made me feel welcome from the beginning and so are so important to us »
Palace striker Benteke, that has scored 21 goals in 98 looks for the Eagles, added: »I’m very satisfied to have reached a deal to expand my contract for one more year.
« The team have started the season very well and there’s a lot to be optimistic about.
« I am more dedicated than ever to repaying the faith the chairman, manager and our wonderful supporters have shown in me »
