Raheem Sterling in talks with Man City over new long-term deal

Marouane Fellaini believes Manchester United criticised the club rapid turnaround in hiring and firing managers and were quick to sack Jose Mourinho.
The Belgian spent years before leaving Old Trafford in January at United, during which time he played under four unique managers. Fellaini won Europa League and the EFL Cup in 2017 beneath Mourinho but the Portuguese was sacked last year following a bad run of results.
But Uniteds problems have not settled with Mourinhos departure – with successor Ole Gunnar Solskjaer presiding on the clubs worst start to a year for 30 years this period – and Fellaini considers the former Chelsea and Real Madrid boss ought to have been granted more time.
They brought in one of the greatest managers in the world in Jose Mourinho, he wished to create a group and they sacked him, Fellaini informed reporters. It is not simple to construct a team in that time, you need over a couple of decades.
I dont understand what they will do with Solskjaer however, for mepersonally, to win things and also to enhance, you need time. Mourinho, for the season, hed incredibly, he enhanced the group, won things. Ok, the next season was a bit more difficult, but he tried, you know, and did his best to help the team. They then chose to sack him.
For me personally, yes [United were too hasty in sacking Mourinho] as a supervisor like this comes and that he wants a great deal of gamers to execute his own doctrine. He wanted to build his group and after two decades, or two decades and a half, they decided to sack him since the results were not there.
The 31-year-old played David Moyes, Louis van Gaal, Mourinho and, temporarily, Solskjaer during his time at Old Trafford, winning the FA Cup beneath the Dutchman, and he also says none of these coaches were given sufficient time at the role from the club.
They earned Moyes, they did not give him time. They brought in Van Gaal , they handed him and we started to do some things , he even won the cup , but since they would like to win quickly after that the manager was sacked by them, I presume. A manager like Van Gaal tactically is quite robust and has a lot of expertise and they snatched him, he explained.
However, when you look to construct a group you need time, not change a manager every 2 decades, every year. If the manager doesnt perform well for four or five matches, they need to sack him.
Manchester United won every thing for years together with Sir Alex Ferguson, therefore for another person to come back along and do exactly what he did is not that easy. They had a strong foundation and a team. It is not simple for a person to come and perform like Sir Alex Ferguson. Individuals and supporters of Manchester United desire that, but football has changed, the mindset of players has shifted.
Fellaini was critical of a number of those younger players in United for the time that they spent on social networking and reckons Solskjaer will struggle to be competitive by simply relying on youngsters after deciding to move on more experienced players such as himself, Romelu Lukaku along with Alexis Sanchez.
You find a few players go straight into the dressing room after games and go straight onto social media, he added. It is wrong. Now you have a new supervisor who wanted players that are young and theyll be down and up, up and down; thats soccer, that is what happens with players.
Of course you cant play with just young gamers, you require a mix. To win matches, to acquire games, to win significant games experience is needed by you. Obviously you may win with players that are young, but not every match.
Fellaini added:The players who abandoned are players of experience. Hence that the trainer decided he didnt want them thats the option of the coach. He decided he didnt need Sanchez or even Lukaku. Thats his problem. He has his own players today, so he must take care of it.
He [Solskjaer] did not have a conversation with me if I will play or not. I signed up up a new contract for a couple of years, one of the best managers in the world needed me to remain. But then, when a new boss comes and I am not in his plans, of course it was time for me to depart and I do not regret it whatsoever.
